About Us

The Waseskun Healing Lodge is a non-profit Indigenous organization affiliated with Correctional Services of Canada (CSC) and Correctional Services of Quebec (CSQ), whose mission is to facilitate the holistic healing of Indigenous offenders who have committed crimes and violent acts, often related to drug and alcohol abuse.

Located in the foothills of the Laurentians, in the Lanaudière region of Quebec, Waseskun offers a secluded, natural environment, essential to supporting our Residents' Healing Journey. They stay here to help them reintegrate into their families, communities and nations. Waseskun employs a skilled and professional staff who offer advice, training, support and guidance to its Residents.

This film invites you into the world of the Waseskun Healing Centre, rooted in Indigenous traditions. Throughout the film, you will discover a living environment where healing is understood as a holistic journey, one that draws on teachings, ceremonies, and the strength of the community.

Through the eyes of those who bring the Centre to life, the film highlights the approach that guides our work: respect, human support, and the transmission of cultural values in service of each person's well-being. We invite you to watch it in order to better understand our mission and the way we live it every day.
