Arts and Crafts:
a Path of Healing and Reconnection

PXL_20250707_164439531.jpg

At the heart of daily life at Waseskun, traditional craftsmanship offers Residents a space for creation, connection and healing.

By crafting objects such as earrings, drums, rattles and leatherwork,

they perpetuate the know-how handed down by their ancestors

and become part of a living cultural continuity.

This manual work enables them to refocus, regain a sense of pride

and rebuild a positive self-image. Each piece is created with care, patience and intention, reflecting an inner journey and a desire

for reconciliation with their identity.

Crafts is not only therapeutic - it also conveys meaning,

beauty and dignity.

By valuing these creations, we recognize the power of culture as an engine for change, resilience and rebirth.
